We noticed when watching clips of Frantic Asembly that are very erratic with their movement choices and routines, as the audience doesnt expect some of the dance pieces that they come out with. So as a group we decided to create a scene that the audience would not expect and would be shocking would be to arrive in the paradise in a suitcase and to emerge slowly to movement, when we showed this to our fellow peers they had a very positive reaction to this abstract idea, as they said it was unexpected and very different compared to anybody else's they had seen.
Our storyline is about making the perfect race and we wanted to try and promote that not everybody can be made perfect because we are who we are, James and Lauren are the main leaders of 'Paradise' which is a rehibilitation centre where certain people each month get chosen to go there, everybody that is chosen is installed with a chip in their neck which is to initate James and Lauren having control over us as they are the only people that can up the dosage and by uping the dosage it is meant to change your facial and physical features. James took some of his characteristics and reasons from Josef Mengele who was a German Nazi. Our main storyline has stayed the same intially throughout our whole rehearsal process, we have just improved certain details, for example we started out with Lauren giving everybody pills instead of it being a pump in your body, we changed it because we feel that is more menacing and disturbing to the audience.
